Overview

Phantom KT1240 High-Speed Camera

High-Resolution Imaging Made Accessible

The Phantom KT1240 brings high-speed imaging to a broader range of users by offering the same 4.2 Megapixel sensor found in the KT1640, with optimized data throughput for a more accessible price point. It’s an ideal choice for applications that demand high-resolution imaging and moderate frame rates, such as material testing, component tracking, structural analysis, and flow visualization techniques like DIC and PIV.

With a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels, the KT1240 delivers sharp, detailed images, making it suitable for scenarios where both field of view and fine spatial accuracy are critical. The camera is engineered with a Back Side Illuminated (BSI) sensor, boosting quantum efficiency and improving performance in low-light environments—crucial for lab setups with limited lighting or when using high magnification optics.

The KT1240 is compact and lightweight, allowing for easy integration into test benches, rigs, and tight spaces without adding excessive weight or infrastructure. While it doesn’t reach the ultra-high frame rates of the KT1640, it still provides excellent speed for a wide range of high-speed imaging needs.

The camera supports programmable I/O, making it easy to synchronize with external equipment such as DAQ systems and sensors. This feature is particularly valuable in scientific experiments and industrial measurements, where timing precision is key. Additional tools like on-camera controls, CFexpress storage, and video outputs support untethered workflows, enhancing flexibility during fieldwork or mobile testing scenarios.

In short, the Phantom KT1240 is an ideal balance of performance, size, and cost, delivering the power of high-speed, high-resolution imaging in a more streamlined and versatile package.
