Overview
The Phantom V1840 is a high-speed camera with a full 4-megapixel sensor, which delivers exceptional detail in captured images. The camera is built on a reliable UHS series platform and can capture images at unprecedented speeds. It has various interchangeable modes, which enhance its flexibility and suitability for different applications.
The camera can capture up to 4,510 frames per second at 2048 x 1920 resolution and up to 8,570 frames per second at 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The Phantom V1840 has 72, 144, or 288GB RAM, which can be easily upgraded for higher frame rates. It has the lowest noise rating of any Phantom camera at 7.2e- and the highest dynamic range of 64 dB among Phantom cameras that use a global shutter.
The camera’s flexibility is further enhanced by utilizing binning mode (mono only), which can reach speeds of up to 17,240 fps at 1024 x 976 resolution. The camera has various image modes, such as Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) in standard mode, which provides the cleanest images for images with dark regions.
The full well is the maximum amount of electrical charge that a pixel in a camera’s sensor can hold before it becomes saturated. A higher full well capacity allows the camera to capture images with more detail and less noise in high-intensity light situations. The Bright Field Mode in Phantom V1840 increases the Full Well, giving cleaner images to bright and very bright backgrounds.
The Phantom V1840 is compatible with the Phantom CineMag IV and V media storage systems, which allow for the safe and quick movement of the large amounts of data generated by the camera’s extreme imaging capabilities.
